Hands-on cooking, gardening, beekeeping and craft workshops led by our region’s artisans and producers is set to return to Beechworth.

The Beechworth Lost Arts Series is a series of workshops underway from 2 September to 20 January next year.

The workshops are designed to help locals reconnect with their kitchen, garden or inner crafter for a morning or afternoon, guided by guest presenters.

Participants will pick up new skills such as ‘make your own’ crumpets, pork bao, curry pastes, buttermilk cake, freeform patchwork, macramé plant hangers, charcoal artwork, floral designs and honey-based skincare products.

The workshops are hosted at Beechworth Honey’s Bee School, with Beechworth Honey founder and fourth-generation beekeeper Jodie Goldsworthy encouraging visitors to discover new skills.

“If you’ve been meaning to start preserving your excess garden produce, if you’ve ever wondered what all the ‘bone froth’ fuss is about, or you’d simply like to make something beautiful from scratch with your hands, we invite you to join us!” Jodie said.

This is the third Lost Arts Series and coincides with the relaunch of Bee School by Beechworth Honey on 1 September.
