Enjoy the Autumn weather and the diverse events happening around Albury Wodonga and surrounds. Here are five ideas for weekend fun.

Relax – Music in the Gardens, Albury

Albury Botanic Gardens will be alive with the sounds of trumpets, trombones and violins, when Music in the Gardens returns for its Autumn season on Sunday 17 March.

Melbourne based mini orchestra Tek Tek Ensemble will feature on Sunday. The musicians love to experiment and create original music inspired by tropical jungles, late night Balkan weddings, 1960s chic and desert rituals.

Pack a picnic or enjoy the food and drink available. There will be plenty on offer to keep you satisfied including a BBQ, ice-creams, coffee and a selection of Posh Plonk wine.

Feel free to BYO alcohol, but note that this is a smoke-free event.

Yum! – North East Food and Wine Festival, Wodonga

Enjoy food and beverage stalls, live entertainment, children’s activities and more at Saturday’s North East Food and Wine Festival at Junction Place, Wodonga.

The festival is designed to encourage and promote a sustainable food tourism market for the North East.

Action – Dederang Picnic Races, Dederang

Enjoy a day at the picnic races, when Dederang Picnic Race Club holds their annual Mt Beauty & District Community Bank Dederang Races on Saturday 16 March.

The day is a wonderful way for friends and family to relax and unwind. It features a six-race program including the feature event, the Milestone Dederang Cup.

The day provides something for everyone with on ground food options, full bar, strong book makers ring, TAB, Cheeky Bits Boutique Fashions on the Field, live music by popular local band Lion and Bear and Kelly’s sports provide supervised, fun activities for the children between 12 noon and 4:00pm.

Family Fun – Circus Rio, Albury

Be amazed as the incredible performers of Circus Rio take the whole family on a journey around the world, beginning at the famous Carnival of Rio de Janeiro!

You’ll be left speechless by FMX Motorbikes as they dazzle the crowd with their outlandish tricks – daring to go where no circus has dared to go before. Circus Rio is a fun and inspiring experience under the Big Top for all the family – final performances at Albury Showgrounds this weekend.

Scenic – Autumn Flower Show, Rutherglen

Rutherglen and District Garden Club celebrates its 30th Autumn Flower Show, show casing the Victorian Autumn Country Rose Championship.

There will be a large range on show including roses, dahlias, cut flowers, container plants, floral art and photography and more.

Open to public the public from 12:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday 17 March at Rutherglen Memorial Hall.
