A $1,200 Cake Sets the High Mark at Auction

A humble home baked carrot cake, made by staff member Jenny Butterfield was auctioned off among staff members for $1,200 at the annual Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser at Kotzur in Walla Walla, north of Albury.

Other cakes, including banana and mud cakes also fetched big bucks, collectively raising $3,762 for the sweet toothed staff members.

Staff at silo manufacturer Kotzur started getting behind the national Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser in 2007, following the sudden loss of a co-worker to cancer.

Other fundraising activities including an Easter raffle, lolly guess, sales of bacon and egg rolls and a ‘mow off’ shave among workers during the year have contributed to a total tally of $7,538 to be donated.

Since 2007, the generous staff of Kotzur have raised $22,514, a mighty effort!
