Food Trucks return to Albury Street Food & Bar at the SS&A.

Indulge in some street food fare, check out some local artisans at markets, explore a new festival or be inspired by some ‘action’ this weekend. Here are 5 things to do around Albury Wodonga and surrounds.

Yum – Albury Street Food & Bar, Albury

The Food trucks are back at the Albury Street Food & Bar at the SS&A Friday and Saturday night from 5:00pm – 10:00pm.

Among the delicacies served up is smoked meats, burgers and tacos from Justin’s Josper, a range of tapas from Riverina Street Eat, dumplings, spring rolls and other treats from Fung’s Asian Food and even donuts, churros and cakes from Happy Cat Donuts.

Markets – Kiewa Street Christmas Markets

The Kiewa Street Market begins its Christmas markets this Sunday 8 December with a special Art and Craft market, perfect for Christmas shopping. All proceeds from this market will go to the Hilltop – Albury Wodonga Patient and Carers Accommodation Centre – Stage Two.

In addition to the fabulous range of stalls there’s also great entertainment, great coffee and food. There’s also a free card making stall for the little ones to colour in a Christmas card.

The market is on from 8.30am to noon at the multi-story car park, 441 Kiewa Street (opp. St Patricks Primary School). Plenty of parking on levels 2 and 3.

Arts & Culture – Yackandandah Arts Festival

Immerse yourself in all things arts and culture during the inaugural Yackandandah Arts Festival across the weekend.

Among the highlights – Open Studios features five fabulous artists with demos of techniques and one-off courses. Galleries include renowned potter John Dermer and Yack Station offering a variety of activities including calligraphy and clay making. Learn watercolour techniques from Charles Sluga, watch Gordon Dickson at work in his studio gallery and visit woodworkers Handsome & Co to create a bespoke piece.

The Yackandandah Arts Festival has a wide range of activities to participate in, including late night shopping with local traders supporting the Festival.

Motorsport – Student Design Competition, Winton

A design, engineering and motorsport competition Formula SAE-A will culminate in 34 university student teams from Australia and overseas converging on Winton Raceway on Saturday and Sunday.

University students design, build and compete in their very own formula-style open wheeled racing car. Run by the Society of Automotive Engineers Australasia, many participants have gone on to carve out successful careers in motorsport.

Racing – Christmas Races, Albury

Albury Racing Club is hosting two festive races, including a Christmas Race Day on Saturday 7 December from 11:00am – 6:00pm.

The races are a great day out during the festive season for Christmas parties, end of year gatherings or a family day out.
