Excitement surrounding the opening of Harris Farm Markets in Albury is building as a recruitment drive for 150 local staff steps up.
Co-CEO Tristan Harris says their flagship store, due to open in the new year will reflect the abundance of produce in the region.
“We chose Albury because it is the hub of a strong agricultural region with a lot of heritage – and it is home to some of the best producers and growers in Australia,” Mr Harris said.
Local producers have also been approached about supplying their home-grown produce into Harris Farm Markets.
“Supporting local is key for Harris Farm,” explained Mr Harris.
“We source from local farmers and suppliers, create job opportunities for local residents, and we want to become part of the community by supporting local groups – especially those that encourage kids to engage in healthy eating.”
Harris Farm Markets was established by David and Cathy Harris in Villawood in 1971. The company remains 100 per-cent family owned and operated with 26 stores mainly across Sydney and NSW, with expansion also planned into Queensland.
