The owner of a stylish, popular food and wine bar at Lake Mulwala is preparing for a ‘sister restaurant’ at Harris Farm Markets.

Blacksmith Albury will be run by the award-winning Blacksmith Provedore owner Liz McNaught.

The Albury restaurant will feature a licensed wine bar selling locally sourced wine and specialise in Blacksmith’s famous thin crust, wood-fired oven pizzas and cheese boards.

“We’re known for our pizzas, hand-made and hand-rolled to order,” Liz said.

“We’ll use super fresh local ingredients, have on site coffee, salads, lunches, light breakfast and snacks – all day dining. There’ll be a pretty impressive playground area for the children alongside us, it will be such a unique space.”

Since opening the Mulwala venue in 2018, Blacksmith Provedore has been celebrated for its stylish setting, winning Best Bar Design in the Eat Drink Design Awards in 2019. It has been featured in Vogue Living, Architecture AU, Concrete Playground and Broadsheet.

“Albury Blacksmith will definitely be inspired by our flagship venue in Mulwala with tonal, textural, earth colours,” Liz explained.

“We want it to be a very calming space in a really busy market. It will also be a very interactive space with the pizzeria fully on show and that lends itself to meeting the makers which the whole market will have.”

Liz McNaught is excited about the opportunities provided by the Harris family in their latest venture.

“Making the Albury store the best market, or fresh food destination in the Southern Hemisphere is quite literally their vision,” Liz said.

“How amazing is it that they have flagged Albury with this opportunity and that’s what we really connected with – a passion to offer something to regional Australia that is not currently available and something that I think our city friends will be a bit envious of.”

Blacksmith Provedore is just one of several locally based vendors who will be represented in the Albury Harris Farm Markets store due to open in the new year.
