The program is out and tickets are on sale for this year’s Tastes of Rutherglen, progressive annual feast on 10 and 11 March.
With 19 wineries participating, Tastes of Rutherglen is considered the ultimate gourmet adventure, offering food and wine enthusiasts the chance to discover perfect pairings of the region’s stand-out wines with local produce.
Among the program is a series of ‘Exclusive Events’ that might be worth booking in early. Here are five that took our fancy:
Cellar Door After Dark – Campbells Wines
Kick start your Tastes of Rutherglen weekend with a relaxing Friday evening under the stars with delicious food from Andiamo matched to Campbells Wines with musician Adam Toms playing live on the winery lawns.
Pop Up Twilight Sparkling, Gin & Seafood Bar – Cofield Wines
Sample wines combined with local Hurdle Creek Gin, while enjoying a selection of tapas and seafood prepared by The Pickled Sisters Café. Listen to live music on the lawn as you watch the sun go down.
Dinner in the Vines – All Saints Estates
Join All Saints for a lively twilight dinner, hosted in the beautiful Estate’s Rose Garden overlooking the vineyards. Enjoy a menu designed by ‘one hat’ Terrace Restaurant head chef Simon Arkless with wines expertly matched.
A Toast to Art – Rutherglen Estates
Discover the new cellar door and Aboriginal Exhibitions Gallery at a casual evening starting with canapes among the vines at Tuileries, followed by a three-course meal matched to Rutherglen Estates wines.
A Night on the Red – Buller Wines
Rock the night away on the lawns with two great bands playing all the hits of the 70’s.
Jimi In A Bottle is a Melbourne based trio, while ‘Listen to the Music – Reliving the 70’s’ is a live seventies show featuring a full six-piece band, colourful costumes and great music.
Of course great food and wine is also available!
