Great Aussie Holiday Park at Bowna north of Albury has secured a Certificate of Excellence from one of the most sought after online review platforms in the world.
The TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence honours hospitality businesses that deliver consistently great service, and is only presented to around 10% of total businesses on TripAdvisor worldwide.
Director of Great Aussie Holiday Park, Melanie Diffey says the accolade is a valuable measure of success.
“Your online reputation is really one of the most important things for your business because everyone uses devices these days and are online searching for their next holiday,” Melanie said.
“Reviews are more important than any advertising or marketing you might do yourselves, because potential visitors will often hold other people’s opinions in a higher regard.”
It appears the secret to positive reviews at the holiday park is based around simple principles.
“We have a motto of ‘clean, friendly and fun’ and I think from the start of the guest experience on the phone, to them arriving and checking in and going to their cabin and maybe seeing our ground staff – everyone has a smile on their face and guests are made to feel really welcome.”
While the Great Aussie Holiday Park is a popular meeting place for families and friends within a four-hour radius, locals are also regulars.
“We do have quite a lot of locals because they don’t’ have to travel far, but still feel like they’re having a holiday because of our setting on the lake.”
Although the winter chill may put off a few holiday makers at this time of year, Melanie says there’s a lot to love about the cooler climate.
“We have the fire pit going in the big undercover entertaining area, so visitors can sit around the fire, toast some marshmallows and have a yarn,” Melanie said.
