The biggest Chrysler show in the Southern Hemisphere will introduce the ‘Great Reveal’ at this year’s event in Wodonga from 15 – 17 March.
Chryslers on the Murray event co-ordinator Rod Taylor from the Albury Wodonga Chrysler Club is confident the introduction of the ‘Great Reveal’ for newly completed restorations will prove popular.
“Anyone who has just finished a new restoration is encouraged to bring it along on the Friday night,” Rod said.
“We’ll have them all undercover, then one by one we’ll pull the covers off and each entrant can explain the story of the car and their project and we’ll continue on to reveal the next car.
“A lot of entrants put a lot of money and time on their cars, and it helps rev a few of the guys up to get their cars finished, so hopefully this will give them the incentive.”
The event is in its 27th year and has grown from what was a record 747 cars just two years ago, to a massive 853 entries last year.
Entries are already in from as far as Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland, with numbers expected to flood in over the next month.
“This event is so popular for the general spectator because we have so much variety,” Rod said.
“I know in America they have bigger shows, but they only have American cars. Here we have American and Australian cars, so we can actually beat them on variety.
“No matter what you’re into, or what era you’re familiar with, there’s something there you’ll find quite interesting.”
While the Chryslers are the focus, the family friendly event will include face painting, children’s rides, a swap meet and shaded areas.
