A Beechworth wine producer will feature in Battle of the Vines, a state vs state challenge for the best wines in the country on the SBS Food Network next week.
Sorrenberg Wines will be pitching their highly regarded Chardonnay against the same drop produced from Lake’s Folly, New South Wales.
The Battle of the Vines television program features Aussie winemakers chosen by the hosts, with the public deciding who will go on to represent the ‘Green and Gold’ internationally.
The episode featuring Sorrenberg Wines is due to screen next Tuesday, 19 June but an advance sneak screening has been arranged at Bridge Road Brewers this Sunday at 7pm.
One of the hosts, Frank Moylan will be in attendance, along with the program’s creator Ross Close, along with Barry and Jan Morey from Sorrenberg.
The program is designed to ‘shake up the cosy world of wine judging’ with an entertainment format where ‘the people’, everyday and experts – have blind tastings and judge the wines they select from Australia’s leading winemakers and regions, at different price points.
For more information on the advance screening contact Bridge Road Brewers 03 5728 2703.
