It’s a truly ‘regal’ way to spend the Queen’s Birthday Weekend and it’s right on our doorstep in the King Valley.
The food + wine festival on 8 & 9 June runs in conjunction with the immensely popular King Valley Balloon Festival and prestigious King Valley Art Show, so there is plenty to see, taste and do!

The winemaking families of the region open their cellar doors and offer tastings of new and museum release wines, and hearty dishes from family-favourite recipes.
Festival tickets are $25pp, which gives access to 10 participating wineries, and a souvenir tasting glass or reusable coffee cup to keep. Children play free.
Brown Brothers Night Glow makes a spectacular end to a day in the valley on Saturday 8 June – watch the balloons from the King Valley Balloon Festival light up in time with music.
There’s a range of local food vendors, live music, Brown Brothers wine bar, local cider and craft beer. Put your gumboots and beanies on for a night out with the family. Tickets $20pp, children free.

If you want the ultimate experience, book a spot in one of the balloons flying over the valley for the festival across the long weekend. Border Cafe reporter Sally Harding was recently treated to an experience – you can read her review here:
Or, come out in the misty mornings to watch the balloons take off, floating over vineyards and the cool, clear King River, whilst you warm up with a coffee and BBQ breakfast, raising funds for local schools.
