Locals are spoilt for choice when it comes to taking day trips to sample and savour the latest vintage from nearby wineries, but later this year, the winemakers will be the ones on the road.
Following two successful years in Melbourne, Rutherglen in the City has expanded this year’s program adding two new wine tasting events in Canberra and Albury.
The Albury event will take place at QEII Square on Saturday 9 November, with a host of pop-up cellar doors offering tastings of more than 100 rare and boutique wines from the 16 Winemakers of Rutherglen.

Visitors will able to sample the world renowned Rutherglen Muscat, explore the region’s most-celebrated red, Rutherglen Durif, and learn how each winemaker and generation has developed their distinct style – from dark and moody to light and fresh.
In addition to meeting the winemakers and tasting a broad range of Rutherglen wines, locals can expand their knowledge and their palate at a program of masterclasses led by the winemakers.
