A boutique winery in Bethanga, which has gained Australia wide popularity in the hamper industry, is set to launch ‘Posh Plonk on Main’ in the historic town of Chiltern.
Based in the former Hub 62 building, the space has been renovated for the new venture which co-owner Matt Daly hopes to become a hub for indulging in local produce.
“We’ve renovated the most amazing building to ensure we have private dining rooms, tasting rooms and pods out the back where families and friends can relax,” Matt said.
“We’ve partnered with 15 local producers such as Milawa Cheese, Gooramadda Olives and Murray River Smokehouse and others, where you can sit down with your group and build your own platter.
“You can pick 10 of your favourite ingredients and our platter team will put that together for you, allowing you to sit and graze away while you’re having some Posh Plonk wine.
“We’ll also be carrying other wines from the region, so it’s really exciting for us to represent not just Posh Plonk, but other local wines in one central hub.”
The Posh Plonk team has also secured the lease on the block next door which will have a focus on families with children’s activities such as badminton, Jenga and Bocci.
Of an evening the venue will be set up as a function space for weddings, premium functions and Christmas get togethers.
The new business will also provide additional job opportunities for hospitality workers.
“With our growth we were able to employ a couple of wonderful people whose businesses have slowed down over these challenging times,” explained Matt.
“Moving forward we’re looking at employing another 10 locals, so it’s exciting for us to give back to this amazing community that has supported us from the word go.
“Posh Plonk has been operating for four years now. We’ve had amazing growth and we’re forever grateful to the local community.”
Posh Plonk on Main in Chiltern opens 4 December. The booking system goes live on Monday 2 November. For more on Posh Plonk: https://poshplonk.com.au/
